One can be considered as an atheist if he becomes hopeless. One who wraps over the quilt of sadness observing the sun drowning in the west and has no patience for the rising sun at dawn, is an atheist. Joy and sorrows are part and parcel of life, which has a connection with our body and mind, which are influenced by the material power, Maya.
The agony of the mind is more felt than that of the body. The agony of the latter is due to our past actions in innumerable births, and we would not be perturbed if we consider that anyhow we have to bear the result of our actions. In case of mind, it should not loiter in the webs of Maya and but rather take shelter under the lotus feet of Guru. This is imperative for all Jeevs.
